The Elgin HIstory Museuem recently received this woman’s watch which dates to the s and which made its way from Arkansas back to Elgin. The timepiece had been in the possession of Lea Little of Russellville, Ark. Along with the watch, Little sent a typed note recounting how her father, Herman Neihouse, found the watch in Fort Smith, probably in the s. It has the initials MYP etched on its back.

Herman and Agatha Neihouse ran a service station in Fort Smith, so one theory is the watch could have belonged to any number of people who stopped by the business to get gas.
